Jobs

There are many types of freelance jobs available on the net, and most of them are really quite easy. Sure, you won’t learn computer programming overnight, but if you can speak English, or click buttons, then you have enough skills to do almost every type of freelance job on the internet.

Article Writing - Writers are constantly in need online, and the better you can write, the better you can do. Writing as a freelancer doesn’t necessarily require a ton of talent, as the more conversational pieces are doing quite well online. While it would be a good idea to learn about SEO (or just use Article Writing software to make sure you’re doing it right), this is probably the easiest way to make money as a freelancer. When first building a portfolio, bid low to get feedback, about $2 per 400 words is typical for beginners, but work your way up to $5 or $10 per article as your feedback improves.

Link Building/SEO - Search Engine Optimization is not necessarily a hard job, it just takes a little know-how and a lot of work. If you are interested in learning the details of SEO, check out this guide to Do-it-Yourself SEO, which is a very thorough guide. Otherwise, most service buyers are willing to tell you what they want, whether they want link-building through article submission or directory submission (again, software will save you tons of time), or forum posting or social bookmarking. This job, while it sounds rather difficult, is not particularly difficult if you have some experience. Depending on your experience you can charge $1 per backlink up to $5 per link, depending on the complexity of the job. Forum posts and social bookmarking typically start at $0.05 per post, while directory and article submission typically nets you between $0.15 and $0.25 per accepted link.

Virtual Assistants - Virtual Assistants, or VAs are typically long-term jobs that are very good for beginners, since they almost always include significant training you can use elsewhere. Most VA jobs involve article writing and SEO, along with maintaining and making posts to blogs or websites. These positions typically pay per hour, between $1.50 and $5 for overseas assistance, or between $4 and $10 for American workers.

Graphics Design - Graphics Designers have a lot of opportunities in the freelance market, a simple search will turn up a lot of different options. From Ebook covers to a complete website, you can do almost anything with these credentials…as long as your work is solid. Typical freelancers can expect between $50 and $1,000 per website redesign depending on the size of the project, and between $20 and $100 for simple logo designs and other one-piece jobs.

Copywriters - Writing salescopy is not a job that is typically offered to a random freelancer online, but if you’ve taken the classes, read the books, and done the research, you can command between $100 and $25,000 per salesletter. Keep in mind, though, that these jobs are extremely rare, and you have a lot of competition, especially as you move up the price ladder.
